In all my years of work and leisure, I have found creative ways to express myself. This often involved the manipulation of fibres: knotting jute in macramé, crocheting with wool, and weaving with linen and cotton. Something to hang, something to decorate the room, something to walk on. After I took a course in silversmithing for jewellery, I was drawn to metal as another medium to explore. With it came a world of new tools, new techniques and new forms.Wearable sculptural jewellery. Lately, I have been weaving strips of sterling silver and crocheting strands of fine silver wire into earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Making jewellery has fused my passion for textiles and metal work. |
| When we put on a special pair of earrings, a unique pendant or ring, we often feel good about ourselves. With our body language, our gaze, and our attitude we project these feelings to those around us. I love the fact that jewellery forms a relationship between the person who wears it, the person who sees it and the person who made it.
Welcome to my world of art jewellery! |
